The Power Holding Company of Nigeria (PHCN) invites sealed beads from eligible bidders for supply and installation of equipment for the construction of :
a. One (1) new 2 X 60MVA, 132/33kV Substation Karu in Abuja.b. One (1) new 2 X 60MVA, 132/33kV Substation Kubwa in Abuja.
-Items a and b above constitute one Lot and bids for partial Lot will be rejected.
-The delivery/construction period is fifteen (15) months
Bidding will be conducted through the International competitive bidding procedures specified in the World Bank Guidelines:
Procurement under IBRD Loans and IDA Credits May 2004 edition, and is open to all bidders from eligible source countries as defined in the guidelines that meet the following minimum qualification criteria.
(i)Average Annual turnover (supply and installation of power equipment ) of US$20 Million, calculated as total certified payment received for contract in progress or completed,
within the last five (5) years.
(ii)Cash Flow amount of US$3.3 Million or equivalent.
(iii) Five (5) years experience under supply and installation contracts of substations equipment in the role of contractor or subcontractor and execution of at least two (2)
Contracts of similar nature and complexity within the last five (5) years, each with a value of at least US$14 million.
Interested eligible bidders may obtain further information from PHCN-PMU and inspect the bidding documents at the address (1) given below from 10.00am to 5.00pm week days Nigeria Time, starting from Monday, January 8, 2007
A complete set of bidding document in English may be purchased by interested bidders in the submission of a written application to the address below (2) below and upon payment of a non-refundable fee of thirteen Thousand Naira (N13,000)
or One Hundred US Dollars (US$100). The method of payment will be certified bank Cheque in favour of PHCN. The bidding Documents will be sent by Courier upon additional payment of
Thirteen Thousand Naira (N13,000) or 100 US Dollars (US$100) for Europe and West Africa or Twenty Six Thousand Naira (N26,000) or two Hundred US Dollars (US$200) for all other
countries as demand draft , payable to the manage, PHCN-PMU Abuja not later than January 31, 2007, to cover the delivery. The demand draft should be accompanied by a letter head of the desirous party requesting for transmittal of the documents giving reference to the bid No and title of the Bid.
Bids must be delivered to the address (1) below on or before 12:30pm on Thursday March 8,2007. All Bids must be accompanies by a bid security of US$250,000 or anm equivalent amount in a freely convertible currency or Naira.
Bids will be opened in the presence of the Bidders representatives , at the address (1) below at 12:30pm on Thursday, March 8,2007.
